My journey to counseling began with curiosity about the brain, the mind, and the human experience. As a student athlete, I knew I wanted to support others like me one day, and the more I learned in graduate school, the more passionate I became. Counselors have also positively shaped my own life, and I'd love to offer that same support to someone else.
I spent four years working with students in the public school system, including two years as a special education counselor, mostly with elementary-aged children. We worked on recognizing and advocating for their needs, building relationships with teachers and peers, building a positive self-concept, and strengthening executive functioning. I've been in private practice at A Sustainable Mind for just over a year, continuing that work with children, teens, their families, and young adults.
I love helping people approach their experiences with curiosity, understand how their brain and body work together, and figure out their next steps after a mental health diagnosis. I especially enjoy working with ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief, and sports performance. I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt therapy, and Polyvagal Theory, and I often ask clients, "What do I know to be true?" I offer in-person and virtual appointments.
Spirituality resonates most with me, because it includes a range of disciplines I've found supportive in my own life. Outside of work, you'll find me with my family, hyperfixating on a hobby, rearranging furniture on a whim, rewatching Harry Potter, or getting outside. I've also been skydiving. 100/10, would recommend.
