Taylor Waugh
MA, LPC-Associate
Taylor is local to the Wichita Falls area, having been born here and raised in the nearby rural community of Archer City. After high school, she attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University on a basketball scholarship before transferring to Harding University to finish her degree and sports career. It was in college that she uncovered a passion for studying mental health and helping others. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology, while minoring in Business Administration, in the Spring of 2020. In August of the same year, she married her best friend, moved to Wichita Falls, began her Master’s program for Clinical Mental Health through Midwestern State University, and started working as a paraprofessional in a Special Education Centralized Program within Wichita Falls ISD. Taylor worked in the school district in a variety of capacities: BASE Paraprofessional, Restorative Practices Specialist Paraprofessional, and, upon completion of her Master’s Program and passing her certification exam, a Special Education Counselor. Taylor is an LPC - Associate, under the supervision of Wendy Helmcamp, PhD, LPC-S, CSC. Throughout her career in education, Taylor has worked with a wide range of student needs, including anxiety, depression, Autism, ADHD, trauma, and grief. While the majority of her experience is in working with children ranging from 6-11 years of age, Taylor also has some experience in counseling adults and working with adolescents in other capacities. In her free time, Taylor enjoys working alongside her husband in his youth ministry. More specifically, she spends much of her time helping organize and serving at events, speaking as a mental health advocate within the church, or chasing her two kiddos while supporting her husband in his role. Taylor considers herself a lifelong learner and is eager to start this journey with A Sustainable Mind in partnering to positively impact the Wichita Falls community!
