Adult Counseling
SPECIALTY
Mental illness was ever-present in my family growing up, and I learned early that some struggles are less visible and that extra support is often needed to get through tough times. When I was in my 20s, I took a job at the state hospital in Vernon, Texas, and I've been passionate about mental health care ever since. I now bring 13 years of inpatient mental health experience to my counseling work.
I work primarily with adults, with some availability for adolescents, and I also see couples, LGBTQIA+ clients, veterans, active duty military, and other mental health professionals. I commonly work with depression, personality disorders, anxiety, adjustment disorder, and bipolar disorder. My approach is humanistic with heavy experiential influences.
The counseling space should be free of judgment and criticism, a place to explore your own inner world, your values, and the meaning you attach to them. Expect me to be compassionate, approachable, and honest, and to treat everyone with dignity and respect. I want you to leave feeling like healing is possible. I offer in-person and telehealth sessions, but if you're local, come see me in person.
Social connection is the pillar that speaks to me most. The friends, family, and coworkers we choose to surround ourselves with can make the difference in mental health and even medical outcomes. Outside of work, I love to read and collect rocks, and I will never turn down a nice crunchy dill pickle.
