Meagan Hoover
MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Meagan Hoover became a nurse to care for individuals as a whole, focusing on their mind, body, and spirit. Through her years of hospital experience and personal life, she recognized that without mental health, it is difficult to achieve physical and spiritual well-being. This realization sparked her passion for providing compassionate mental health care.
Raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Meagan moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech University on a full academic scholarship. She graduated in 2005 with a degree in public relations and began her career fundraising for a children’s hospital. It did not take long for her to discover that her true calling was at the bedside, caring directly for patients. Around this time, she met and married her husband Ben, whose career brought them to Wichita Falls. After relocating, Meagan returned to school to earn her ADN and BSN while also starting a family with one son and two daughters. She went on to work in the operating room and in women’s and children’s services, primarily labor and delivery, where she cared for and counseled patients experiencing the devastating loss of a child before, during, or after delivery.
In 2019, Meagan returned to Texas Tech University to pursue her psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner degree. Following graduation, she joined Rose Street Mental Health Care, gaining experience in outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization settings. While she treats patients of all ages, Meagan has extensive experience with and a deep passion for working with pediatric, adolescent, and young adult populations. She especially enjoys helping children struggling with anxiety or depression, teens navigating challenges and decision making, and young adults discovering who they are.
Outside of her professional work, Meagan is an active member of the Wichita Falls community. She is involved with WFISD, Young Life, sings on the music team at her church, and coaches youth basketball.
