SPECIALTY
In February 2025, I entered private practice with A Sustainable Mind, bringing more than 34 years of experience across education, school counseling, special education, and clinical mental health, including over six years facilitating group therapy at Red River Hospital. My training includes CBT, TEAM-CBT, REBT, trauma-informed expressive arts therapy, child-centered play therapy, Youth Mental Health First Aid, grief counseling, Social Thinking, and mindfulness.
I work with children ages 10 and up, adolescents, young adults, and adults on anxiety, depression, autism, grief, self-esteem, relational challenges, parenting, and life transitions. Guided by trauma-informed practices and person-centered values, I combine practical cognitive behavioral strategies with creative techniques to support growth, acceptance, and healing. I see clients by telehealth.
When I needed it most, seeking support from the counseling community showed me the value of someone who truly listens and walks alongside you. That experience led me to become that kind of support for others. Expect me to be authentic, warm, curious, and accepting. Struggling doesn't mean something is wrong with you, and asking for help is a sign of strength.
I believe movement is an important part of caring for the whole person: it supports emotional well-being, reduces stress, and helps us feel more connected to ourselves and our lives. Outside of work I enjoy family, walking, reading, and music, and I'm a lifelong seeker of knowledge who loves learning and new perspectives.
